| Driver Escapes Without Injury in Catoosa County Rollover CATOOSA COUNTY, GA – Wednesday, May 16, 2007 – Just after 3:30 PM today, the Catoosa County Fire Department was notified of a motor vehicle accident with rollover and possible entrapment on Swanson Road. Catoosa Engine 3 and Rescue 1 responded. Upon arrival, Engine 3 found a Nissan Xterra on its side. The female driver had self extricated and was unhurt but visibly shaken. Rescue 1 was cancelled and the firefighters from Engine 3 checked for hazards. At the time of the accident a brief rain shower had just come through and the roads which had been dry for a long time was very slippery. The spot of the accident was also at the bottom of a winding curve. It appeared that the SUV left the roadway and went a short way up the embankment before rolling over back onto the street. Swanson Road is a narrow two lane road. The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department was on the scene to assist with traffic. The accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol. |
