Driver Escapes Without Injury in Catoosa County Rollover

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA – Wednesday, May 16, 2007 – Just after 3:30 PM today, the Catoosa
County Fire Department was notified of a motor vehicle accident with rollover and possible
entrapment on Swanson Road.  Catoosa Engine 3 and Rescue 1 responded.

Upon arrival, Engine 3 found a Nissan Xterra on its side.  The female driver had self extricated
and was unhurt but visibly shaken.  Rescue 1 was cancelled and the firefighters from Engine 3
checked for hazards.  At the time of the accident a brief rain shower had just come through and
the roads which had been dry for a long time was very slippery.  The spot of the accident was
also at the bottom of a winding curve.  It appeared that the SUV left the roadway and went a short
way up the embankment before rolling over back onto the street.  Swanson Road is a narrow two
lane road.

The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department was on the scene to assist with traffic.  The accident is
being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
