One Hurt When SUV Flips in Catoosa County

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA – Shortly after 3:00 PM, Tuesday, July 10, 2007, the Catoosa County Fire
Department was dispatched to a reported MVC with entrapment in the 2400 block of Ooltewah
Ringold Road.  The caller advised that an SUV was on its top on the railroad tracks.

Catoosa County firefighters arrived to find the Chevrolet Blazer on its top, lying next to the railroad
tracks that run parallel to the roadway.  The found the sole occupant, a female, unable to exit the
vehicle.  Firefighters were able to quickly remove her and together with EMS [laced her on a
backboard, carried her to the awaiting ambulance she was transported in serious condition to the
hospital.

According to unofficial reports, the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle while southbound on
Ooltewah Ringold Road, left the right side of the roadway which is covered with brush and debris,
went up a small embankment and turned over against the railroad tracks.  All CSX trains were ordered
to stop until the vehicle was cleared.  The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident and the
Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department assisted on the scene.
