Two Car MVC Injures Two In Fort Oglethorpe

FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – Sunday, May 13, 2007 – At approximately 11:30 AM, Fort Oglethorpe Fire
& Rescue was alerted to a motor vehicle accident with injuries and possible entrapment at the
intersection of Lafayette Road and Cloud Springs Road.  Fort Oglethorpe Engine 1 and Hutcheson EMS
Medic 3 responded along with Battalion Chiefs Doug Flury (907) and Marlin Thompson (903).  

Chief Flury arrived on scene and advised of a two vehicle head on type collision with heavy damage.  All
parties were out of the vehicles upon his arrival.  Firefighters from Engine 1 along with Medics from
Hutcheson EMS treated the patients.  Medic 3 transported one male patient emergency traffic to
Erlanger Hospital.  Another male who complained of back and neck pain was transported non
emergency by Medic 7.  

Firefighter with Engine 1 also cleaned up fluids and hazards on the roadway and Chief Thompson
assisted with traffic.  The accident is being investigated by the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department.
