| Rollover on I-75 Injures One CHATTANOOGA, TENN- Monday, March 19, 2007 – Shortly after 1:00 PM, the Chattanooga Fire Department was alerted to an accident with injuries on Interstate 75 northbound near the Bonny Oaks Road exit. Per department protocol, two pieces of apparatus, Quint 8 and Quint 13 responded to the call. Quint 8 under the command of Captain Ken Moses located the accident in the northbound lanes just north of Bonny Oaks Road. The accident involved a single vehicle, a pickup truck pulling a trailer. The truck was on its side against a barrier next to the outside lane. TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation) Help trucks were on the scene and the injury to the driver was minor so Capt. Moses cancelled Quint 13. The driver of the pickup truck stated that the wind blew the trailer sideways causing him to lose control, strike the concrete carrier and flip over. The trailer became detached from the truck but remained upright. No other vehicles were involved. Medics from Hamilton County EMS treated the driver on the scene. The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating the accident. |
