Multiple Car MVC Sends Five to the Hospital in Fort Oglethorpe

FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – At 11:44 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2009, Fort Oglethorpe Fire
and Rescue Engine 1 responded to the 1500 block of Battlefield Parkway on a report of a
multiple car MVC with one vehicle on fire.  On arrival Engine 1 found five vehicles involved in a
rear end type collision with no fire.  All occupants were already out of their vehicles and Angel
EMS was on the scene treating patients.

Engine 1 personnel assisted medics with packaging the patients who had injuries rangine from
cuts and bruises to possible back injuries.  Angel EMS, using two ambulances, transported
some of the patients to Hutcheson Medical Center and some to Memorial Hospital.  None of the
patients appeared to be suffering life threatening injuries.

All vehicles were rendered safe and the fluids on the roadway were taken care of.  The
accident is being investigated by the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department.
