| Tractor Trailer Rollover in Chattanooga CHATTANOOGA, TEN – Friday, August 29, 2008 – The Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS responded to E. 20th Street at Washington Street on a reported motor vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer rollover. Firefighters arrived to find an 18 wheeler on its side facing westbound on E. 20th street, just west of the intersection. There were no other vehicles involved. The driver of the big rig suffered only minor injuries in the rollover and was transported to Erlanger Hospital in good condition. There were no other injuries. The accident is being investigated by the Chattanooga Police Department. The trailer was lifted using large inflatable air bags. The intersection and part of the roadway were blocked for several hours while tow truck operators set the rig upright. The trailer was filled with boxes containing rolls of yarn. |
