| Pickup Truck Wipes Out Air Conditioner Next to Home in East Ridge EAST RIDGE, TENN – At about 11:00AM, Thursday, August 27, 2009, the East Ridge Fire Department was dispatched to a home on Moore Road in reference to a motor vehicle accident, car vs. house. On arrival, firefighters with Quint 1 located a Ford F-150 pickup truck sitting on top of an air conditioning unit next to a house. The driver of the truck had not suffered any apparent injuries in the accident. The truck, for whatever reason, left the roadway, up the driveway of the house next door, through a fence, and struck the air conditioning unit attached to the side of the house. It drove the air conditioner off of its foundation and into a fence at the rear of the house. The truck continued forward until it was sitting on top of the air conditioner. The house itself did not receive any structural damage as a result of the accident. The homeowner was not at home at the time of the accident and there was no one injured as a result of the accident. The incident is being investigated by traffic officers of the East Ridge Police Department. |
