Duncan Park Express Makes Quick Work of Outbuilding Fire

FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – Wednesday, July 2, 2008 – At about 1:50 PM, Fort Oglethorpe Fire
and Rescue Engine 10, “The Duncan Park Express”, was dispatched to an outbuilding fire at 65
Old Lakeview Drive.  While en route, firefighters could see the smoke column and requested an
additional engine company.  Engine 1 responded.

Engine 10 arrived on scene to find a fully involved outbuilding which appeared to have been a
construction trailer or something similar.  An inch and three quarter attack line was pulled and
firefighters quickly knocked down the fire.  Engine 1 supplied additional water to Engine 10 and
Engine 1 firefighters assisted in overhaul.

Firefighters were back in service in about 45 minutes.  The official cause of the fire is under
investigation. No injuries were suffered as a result of the fire.
