Dallas Bay VFD Battles Daytime House Fire

HAMILTON COUNTY, TENN – Wednesday, June 18, 2008 – Just before 9:00 AM, the Dallas Bay
Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a residential structure fire at 7738 Gann Road.  Firefighters
arrived on the scene and reported a working fire on the second floor, C/D corner of the structure.  
Mutual aid was requested from Red Bank and Soddy Daisy Fire Departments.

Firefighters pulled two inch and three quarter lines and advanced on
e to the interior of the house
through the front door.  They were able to get a fairly quick knock down on the fire.  The majority of
the fire damage was confined to one bedroom on the second floor and a small section of the roof.  
The remainder of the house did suffer smoke damage.  Public Information Officer Amy Maxwell
estimates about $70,000 in damage.

There was no one at home when the fire broke out.  The owner stated that he was at work and was
notified by neighbors of the fire.  He had been gone from the home approximately ½ hour.

Medics with Hamilton County EMS were on the scene but no injuries were reported.  The fire is under
investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.  Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue
was called for rehab.
