Walker County Makes Quick Stop

WALKER COUNTY, GA – Tuesday, May 20, 2008 – At about 6:15 PM, Walker county Emergency
Services was dispatched to 9490 North Highway 27 for a reported residential structure fire.  Fire
department apparatus arrived on scene to find heavy smoke from the B side of the structure.  They
immediately pulled two inch and three quarter lines through the front door and began to advance to
the left side of the house.  

Firefighters located substantial fire in a room on the first floor of the two story residence.  The quickly
got a knock down on the fire.  Fast and aggressive work by firefighters contained the fire to the one
room.  There was some smoke damage throughout the house but disaster was averted by the
firefighters quick action.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.  Hutcheson EMS was on the scene standing
by in case they were needed.  There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
