MVC with Rollover Injures One in Fort Oglethorpe

FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – Saturday, April 12, 2008 – Just before 3:00 PM, Fort Oglethorpe Fire
and Rescue was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving several vehicles on Lafayette
Road (Route 27) at Schmitt Road.  Assistant Chief Glenn Davis (903) and Engine 1 arrived on the
scene to find four vehicles involved, with one on its side.

The Suzuki struck a Saturn in the rear causing Suzuki to roll onto its side.  The Saturn then rear
ended a Kia Sportage and drove it into the back of a GMC Sierra pickup truck.  The only injury was
to a female passenger in the Kia.  She was treated by firefighters and paramedics and transported
to the hospital by Angel EMS.  Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Firefighters remained on the scene while the overturned vehicle was uprighted and cleaned up
fluids on the ground.  Deputies from Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department and Walker County
Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.  The accident is being investigated by the Georgia
State Patrol.
