Chattanooga works MVC with entrapment

CHATTANOOGA, TENN – Sunday, March 28, 2009 – At about 8:45 AM, the 9-1-1 center began
receiving calls of a rollover accident with entrapment at the intersection of Morris Hill Road and
Igou Gap Road.  Different parts of the intersection lie in different jurisdictions which brought
responses from the Chattanooga Fire Department and Tri-Community Volunteer Fire
Department.

Hamilton County EMS Medic 7 arrived first and found a two car crash with one on its side on the
southeast corner of the intersection.  Two teenage girls were entrapped in a Honda Civic on its
side but were uninjured.  There were no injuries inside the second vehicle, a Toyota van.  While
firefighters with Chattanooga Squad 3 and Quint 13 worked to free the trapped girls, Tri-
Community Engine 1245 stood by with a hose line in case of problems.

Both young ladies were freed quickly through the back window of the car and thoroughly checked
by medics and found to have no injuries.

The accident is being investigated by the Chattanooga Police Department.  Deputies with the
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department also assisted on the scene.
