Vehicle Rolls Over into Water in Fort Oglethorpe

FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – Shortly before 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2009, Fort
Oglethorpe Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a motor vehicle rollover in the 2600 block of
Boynton Drive.  Callers reported a baby was entrapped in the vehicle.

Fort Oglethorpe Engine 8 responded and found an Oldsmobile sedan on its top in a small creek.  
The two adult passengers in the vehicle had self extricated and were able to get the baby out prior
to the arrival of firefighters.  Angel EMS arrived on the scene and treated all three patients.  They
were all transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Engine 8 remained on the scene until the vehicle could be removed.  The Catoosa County Sheriff’s
Department assisted with traffic and the accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.  
At the time of the accident it was raining and roads were very slick.
