| Fort Oglethorpe Works Vehicle Fire FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – Tuesday, January 29, 2008 – At about 9:30 AM as firefighters with Engine 1 were preparing to leave the scene of a rollover accident, they were alerted to a vehicle fire at the Kangaroo Convenience Store located at Cloud Springs Road and Scruggs Road. Engine 1 arrived on the scene to find a 1973 Ford pickup truck heavily involved in fire. Firefighters Thomas Smith and Trey Williams pulled an inch and three quarter line and made quick work of the fire which consumed the interior of the truck and engine compartment. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. There were no injuries and the vehicle was well away from any other vehicles or the fuel pumps when Engine 1 arrived. |
